we know, (Federation Internationale de Football Association) FIFA World Cup is
the biggest competition of football for the whole world. The Awaited
Competition that gives big attention of all eyes. FIFA World Cup is the events that
are held for once in 4 years have
given much spirit of the world soccer players. Many soccer players, whoever,
want to perform in this event. Perform his skill, ability, and the beloved
country is the dream that must be achieved by each soccer player. The highest
and biggest achievement for soccer player is performs and wins this tournament.
Many football lovers do not know the
history of FIFA World Cup. In this article, we also want to give a little
information about the journey of this competition from beginning. The first FIFA
World Cup was held in Uruguay from 13 - 30 July 1930. Why was first competition
held in Uruguay? This is the question that occurred in mind of many football
lovers. The reason, because Uruguay is the defend champion of Olympic Soccer
Branch (the football tournament before FIFA World Cup 1930). In addition, in
that year to coincide with the 100 years of the independence of Uruguay and the
country will celebrate it massively. For held it, Uruguay did a pretty serious
preparation. Therefore, they built a giant Stadium in the capital, Montevideo.
And Centenario Stadium had a capacity of 95,000 spectators. There are thirteen
countries that followed this tournament. The countries are seven from South
America, four from Europe and two from North America. Team is divided in four
groups and then the winner of each group can go forward to semifinal without
quarter final. Argentina, Uruguay, United States, and Yugoslavia are the
semifinal participant. Finally, the winner in final match is Uruguay that beats
Argentina 4-2. Automatically, Uruguay is the first winner FIFA World Cup. However,
FIFA World Cup was joined by thirteen countries, this becomes the big milestone
of Football History.
As Indonesians who have always supported the progress of
world football. And does not need to be discouraged, Indonesia also takes part
in this great tournament in France on 1938. At that time, the name of
Indonesian team is “Hindia Belanda” because Netherlands still colonized
Indonesian. The struggle ended when Indonesia was defeated by Hungary,
decisively defeated with a score 6-0. However, Indonesia has recorded his name
on this largest football festival.
Nowdays, Brazil as the host of FIFA World Cup 2014, is the
second time that Brazil holds this largest football festival after the first
time in 1950. For this festival, Brazil did a pretty serious preparation.
Example for the stadiums, there are twelve stadiums that prepared by Brazil,
both the new stadium and the rebuilt stadium. The stadiums are Estadio Mineirao
(Belo Horizonte), Estadio Nacional (Brasilia), Arena Pantanal (Cuiaba), Arena da
Baixada (Curitiba), Estadio Castelao (Fortaleza), Arena Amazonia (Manaus), Estadio
das Dunas (Natal), Estadio Beira-Rio (Porto Alegre), Arena Pernambuco (Recife),
Estadio do Maracana (Rio de Janeiro), Arena Fonte Nova (Salvador), Arena de Sao
Paulo (Sao Paulo). There will be 64 matches that played in these stadiums. Besides
that, many residences or hotel around the stadiums that can be a resting place
after watching the game. Indeed to welcome the enthusiasm of all eyes, Brazil
has tried everything well to make the country eligible as place of the 4th
annual event.
Even for the first time, all matches will use goal-line
technology and will be placed in all stadiums. As the official
website of FIFA reported “Goal-line
technology (GLT) is set to feature at the FIFA World Cup™ for the first time as
a support for match officials, after FIFA confirmed last year the appointment
of Goal Control GmbH as the official GLT provider for the tournament. Goal
Control is equipped with 14 high-speed cameras located around the pitch, with
seven cameras focusing on each goalmouth. The ball’s position is continuously
and automatically captured in 3D and the indication of whether a goal has been
scored is immediately confirmed within one second to a watch worn by each of
the match officials”.[1]
Recorded 31 countries got away in qualifying which was held
on June 2011, to 32 added a host, Brazil. All the team that represents his
country has the same rights to win this Championship. These countries have the
same opportunity to win this competition. No matter it is a small country, a
great country, strong team, weak team, team that have never been a champion, or
team that was a champion many times over like Brazil. All featured in this
event is the team that has a dream to become a champion.
Awaits the winner in this event is certainly very thrilling,
especially for attendees and football lovers of the FIFA World Cup 2014. Because
this event is closer, even already formed phase group, many also forecast and
confidence, which team will be the champion?. If we talk about the Brazil team,
beside the team is the host of event, Brazil also have many talent and
competitive soccer player like Neymar (FC Barcelona), David Luiz (Chelsea),
Thiago Silva (Parist Saint Germain FC), and Dani Alves (FC Barcelona). These
players are still playing in great clubs. With a touch of sweetness from the
experienced coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari, it is not impossible for Brazil to
become the first champion candidate in this event. Moreover with the support of
millions of supporters to be the biggest factor that could burn the players
passion.
The second candidate is Spanish as
the first ranking of FIFA, Spain has won the European Cup in 2008 and 2012, as
well as the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Spain has great confidence and a
chance to be a winner. With the ability of the players who are above average,
and the tiki-taka style of play which became a hallmark of the Spanish
game, making the Spanish was feared by any team. The next champion candidates are
Germany, Argentina, Italy, Uruguay, Netherlands, England and the dark horse
Belgium. These teams have talent and competitive soccer players too. With the sweet
history of each teams, they will not let any country defeated their team. Each
team has its own motivation to win this Championship. Will be many useless battles
on the field if we miss out. The festival gives a lot of attention that will
pamper the eye of football lovers. Every game is going to be sweet and dark
history of the team participants. Therefore, the event is only held once in
four years, it will be the memories for lovers of football, especially the
players and the team.
